OK, my whole family has had the flu this week one at a time. This has meant no sleep at all for me. Then I got it. Then one of my lovely kids cut the cord off my telephone so I have no phone contact with anyone. My cell phone has very little minutes on it. I talk to Janet every day no matter what, flu or not.
I was laying in the bed, and I put a movie in for the kids so they wouldn't kill each other. It was Pippi Longstocking. In one of the scenes she asks her mother (who is an angel in heaven by the way) how to get a message to her dad. She tells her to simply put a note in a bottle.
That's it! I will put a note to Janet and have the milktruck driver fling it over the bridge into the Chautauqua lake. Someone will find it and get it to her when it washes up on Bemus beach.
This is what I was going to write on the note: Dear Janet:
I think I am dying. I can't call you because Weezy cut the cord off the phone. Please have Rum and Coke at the funeral (enough for everyone) and have your mom make her famous cheesecake. Oh yeah, please have them write on my headstone "It's been a party!"
Thanks,
Love Anne
These are my last wishes
Talk later,
Annie
